AVR Scheme


The AVR scheme has been set up under the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) to provide quality assurance on voluntary registers in the health & social care sector.

CAHSC has maintained a keen interest in the development of the AVR scheme.  We commented on the Command Paper ‘Enabling Excellence’ and responded to consultations by the PSA.

The PSA launched its Government-backed AVR scheme in December 2012.

We were disappointed at the high application and registration fees, which prevent CAHSC from further pursuing accreditation at this time. We maintain a strong interest in future developments and will keep our registrants informed of any change in this position.
